Yup, that is the number of year I have been in the US. I was only 18 then and no I did not have a childhood marriage. You know its funny, everyone just assumes that I must have married someone and tailgated him to US, when I mention that I am on H4 visa, not that there is absolutely anything wrong with that. Not so. Its been a long struggle. Sorry to disappoint you folks who stereotype H4s “as the opportunists who use their marriage certificate as a license to come to US and does nothing but whines about their unfortunate dependency on their husbands”. How narrow, anti-progressive mind can a human being, sorry an educated human being of a “developed” world, possess? How on earth can anyone think it is ok for a human being to be forced not to be able to earn their own living??? My “dropped jaw and raised eyebrows” towards these folks is a reflection of how many of these I have come across while I was researching to write about the H4 dependents. And to my surprise most of these people are women!!! Quite a few of them second generation Indian immigrants who had it easy, thanks to their “narrow minded, sticking to their own type, racist, moron immigrant parents”!!! Some even claim to be feminists for god sake!!! Do they even know what the word means???

Phew, I didnt know what I was getting myself into when I started this H4Help.org project… Today, I sat down to write a story about what these H4 dependents face and here I am compelled to waste my time ranting about these $&&(!#

I am not going to waste anymore of my time or energy on these bigoted ungrateful people. If you want you can go read these post at your leisure:
